Jordan Steffaniak, PhD, NMLS 2353843
Jordan Steffaniak is President and Founder of Professor Lending. He has over a decade of experience in the mortgage industry, helping to close thousands of loans. He has a PhD, ThM, MDiv, and is currently working on an MBA from UNC Wilmington. He got his start in mortgage at AmeriSave Mortgage, one of the nation's leading lenders, as a Loan Origination Assistant for three of the top producing Loan Originators in the country. He eventually moved to PNC Bank before working for Enact Mortgage Insurance in business development, analytics, and mortgage technology. He founded his own mortgage processing company in 2019 where he learned about the mortgage brokerage space before launching Professor Lending in 2024. His varied experience has uniquely equipped him to help you on your home-buying journey. Jordan has been happily married to Sarah since 2015 and they have three boys. Jordan also leads an educational non-profit that he co-founded in 2019 which includes a publishing house that is an introductory member of the Association of University Presses. Ask him about it! Jordan is licensed in North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio. He is working on obtaining his Indiana, Alabama, and South Carolina licenses.
Hayden Fleming, PhD Candidate, NMLS 2685469
Hayden Fleming is a Senior Loan Origination Assistant at Professor Lending. He has an MA and is a PhD candidate. He has a wide range of real estate industry experience including working in home renovation before coming to Professor Lending. Hayden also served as a pastor in Wake Forest, NC. Hayden and his wife Joy have been married since 2014 and they have two children.
Conner McMakin, MDiv, NMLS 1488182
Conner McMakin is a Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant for Professor Lending with years of experience in the industry (AmeriSave Mortgage and PNC Bank). He currently serves as a pastor in West Michigan and came onboard with Professor Lending in early 2025. His diverse skillsets make him especially equipped to serve people in finding the most helpful mortgage products for their unique financial situation. Conner and his wife Emily have been married since 2014 and have three children.
